Discussion:

  • We talked about reconciliation – comparing it to reparations and restoration – and how to move forward in community with others as we work for justice, love, and hope.

Moments for Eco-justice/Eco-practice:

  • Every Tuesday evening between now and Thanksgiving, please join the Ecojustice and Faith Climate Stories online conversation.  Watch a short (about 20 minutes) movie on ecojustice and faith, then enjoy 20-30 minutes of conversation and reflection.  We’ll start at 6:30.  Here is the Zoom link for each week:

Joys and Concerns:

  • Michael Stein is having surgery for prostate cancer on Tuesday.
  • Cheryl’s newborn neighbor weighed only one pound when she was born.  Today she’s ten months old and weighs 11 pounds!
  • Cheryl’s friend, Lisa, stepped off a curb and broke her ankle in three places.
  • Cheryl is going to Kansas City on Thursday to visit family.
  • It was a joy to have Sandra with us in person today.
  • Phil heard a flock of sandhill cranes flying overhead last week!
  • Phil and Debbie are going to Phoenix on Thursday to visit Sarah and family.
  • Debbie’s tests to detect internal bleeding found none!  Her anemia is likely due to a lifetime of blood donations.  Easy fix!
  • Betsy was a volunteer for the first-ever, but not-the-last, Baker Neighborhood Porch Fest last week.  It was highly successful and lots of fun!  Cheryl agrees it was great!
