Discussion:
- Debbie led our discussion of “Embracing Change: God’s Constant Presence.”
- The next set of most-needed items for the Wash Park UCC Immigrant Ministry are Lysol Wipes, bathroom cleaner without bleach, multi-surface cleaner, and sponges. Shopping will take place on August 3.
Moments for Eco-justice/Eco-practice:
- Cheryl noted how much the climate has changed over recent years; for example, when she and Doretta bought their house, they rarely needed air conditioning. That’s completely changed now.
- Betsy is now getting weekly notifications from Xcel regarding her energy usage.
Joys and Concerns:
- Phil Campbell’s sister, Jane, passed away this week. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
- It was especially good to have Ann with us today!
- Tory is now walking for good stretches using her walker instead of a wheelchair! She’s very excited to be making this progress!
- Cheryl really enjoyed this past week with her friend, Betty, both their time in Denver and their road trip to Utah.
- Cheryl will co-officiate the memorial service for Lynda Burd, which will take place on September 20 in New Mexico.
- Munsty is currently suffering from a kidney stone. He’s taking medication to help ease it along.
- Ellen and family are vacationing at Disney World this week.
- Sherrill had gallbladder surgery this past week. She is recovering at home now. She brought to our attention a journal called “Comment: Public Theology for the Common Good,” which you can find at comment.org.
- Sherrill let us know that she is transferring her membership to Messiah Lutheran Church, ELCA. She’d like to be taken off the group email list, which I have done. We wish her all the best.
