Discussion:

  • We discussed Derrek Penwell’s essay, “What Lent Knows That We Often Forget.”

Moments for Eco-justice/Eco-practice:

  • Cheryl started using Blue Land hand soap, a product that mixes a tablet with water, so you can reuse the plastic bottle over and over.
  • Cos purchased compostable paper products for Kathi’s celebration of life.  The worked very well.
  • Jeanette started using Grove paper products made from bamboo.
  • Phil is happy that Project Worthmore works very hard to recycle cardboard and compost food waste.

Joys and Concerns:

Debbie’s brother-in-law, Duane, will begin radiation treatment for melanoma very soon.

Lynda Walling Burd has been diagnosed with glioblastoma.  She begins radiation and chemotherapy this week.

Cheryl attended a memorial gathering for her cousin, Howard, today.  It was good to be with family.

Jeanette is excited about starting new seedlings, as well as updating her profile for search and call.

Rhonda is experiencing a lot of grief and stress.  Her friend, Karen, passed away on Sunday, and she’s currently completing her competency exams.

Phil C.’s sister, Jane, has been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.  She’s being treated at the Mayo Clinic.
