  • Loving God / Loving Others / Loving Earth

Our Mission:

  • Fireside Christian Church is an intentional faith community that courageously seeks, questions, challenges, and ministers to each other and the world in authentic affirmation of our faith journeys.  We work to be inclusive of all people as we: embrace our humanity; celebrate diversity; promote peace and justice; create beloved community; receive God’s expansive love; care for the Earth; and act in hope.

Discussion:

  • We discussed an excerpt from a lecture by Father Greg Boyle:  “Reflections on Healing.”

Moments for Eco-justice/Eco-practice:

  • Lisa reports that Modal fabric is not all it’s marketed to be when it comes to its environmental impact.

Joys and Concerns:

  • Lisa had a wonderful trip to Colorado visiting family and friends.  She also let us know that Sora’s grandmother passed away, leaving Sora’s dad housing insecure.
  • Phil let us know that one of his clients at Worthmore was picked up by ICE during his immigration meeting.  Another one was released after a year of imprisonment.
  • Lisa is participating in a singing group in Manhattan, which is much like the singing groups in Minneapolis who try to bring joy as resistance.
  • Cheryl experienced a broad-based, identity theft, which has taken weeks to resolve.  Such a terrible, personal violation.  She suggested we all consider using Proton Mail, a secure email service.
  • Cheryl spent the day with Claire.  They binge-watched favorite shows.
  • Phil and Debbie are having a great time this week with Sarah, Clara, and Colin who are visiting from Arizona.  It was fun to have Sarah pop into our Zoom to say hi!
