Our Vision:

  • Loving God / Loving Others / Loving Earth

Our Mission:

  • Fireside Christian Church is an intentional faith community that courageously seeks, questions, challenges, and ministers to each other and the world in authentic affirmation of our faith journeys.  We work to be inclusive of all people as we: embrace our humanity; celebrate diversity; promote peace and justice; create beloved community; receive God’s expansive love; care for the Earth; and act in hope.

Discussion:

  • A huge electrical outage curtailed our gathering today.  Nevertheless, we persisted and managed to share some joys and concerns.  We’ll take up our discussion at the next gathering!

Moments for Eco-justice/Eco-practice:

  •

Joys and Concerns:

  • Cos is grateful for the time he and his family have been able to spend together reminiscing about Kathi and planning for her celebration of life.  The celebration will be held at 11:00 on February 14 at First Congregational Church of East Lake, 12630 2nd Street, Thornton, 80241.
  • Cheryl heard good news from Tracy and Mark.  Tracy underwent a successful ankle replacement, and Mark’s drug trial is working very well.  Doctors are very optimistic about a full recovery!
  • Lisa’s colleague, Marilyn, is having immigration concerns and may need to return to Canada.
  • Betsy’s nephew’s father-in-law was killed in a car accident.  Thankfully, others in the car are out of ICU and improving.
  • Cheryl raised concerns that ICE is becoming more active in the Denver metro area.  She’s also keenly aware of Maga thinking, as her cousin has been more vocal on Facebook – even on Cheryl’s page.
  • Debbie is testifying in court this week concerning a lawsuit that was brought to APS while she was president of the Board of Education.
  • Cheryl is organizing a postcard writing action for us.
